CPRA ANNOUNCES PRECISION RODEO TOUR

June 6, 2024 l Airdrie, AB
For immediate release

Precision Rodeo TourThe Precision Rodeo Tour – presented by Precision Well Servicing and Precision Drilling – is ready to launch for the 2024 Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) season.

The CPRA with both Precision Well Servicing (PWS) and Precision Drilling (PD) have partnered to create a ten-event Western Canadian Tour set to kick off this weekend in Brooks and Bonnyville and wrap up at Coronation in September.

Contestants will battle through the Precision Rodeo Tour with the top point earner in each major event (both Header and Heeler in the Team Roping) and the top Breakaway roper earning the Precision Rodeo Tour Championship and taking home a $1,000 cash prize. Points will be awarded to contestants both for their placings at the events (60 points for 1st through 10 points for 6th) and 25 additional points for every event they compete at on the Tour.

“Precision Drilling and Precision Well Servicing are excited to support the talented contestants in their pursuit of excellence,” said Preston Reum, Vice President, Precision Well Servicing. “We believe in empowering individuals who demonstrate dedication and skill in their fields and by sponsoring these aspiring professionals, we hope to contribute to their growth and success, ultimately benefiting the entire community.”

Precision, a leader in the energy sector since 1951, leads the industry with the most versatile fleet of Service rigs in the business and provides its drilling customers with the largest High-Performance High-Value Drilling Rig Fleet in Canada. They are committed to sustainable growth and investing in technological advancements that focus on safety and a more efficient era of energy production.

"I am excited about the creation of this tour,” noted Denny Phipps, General Manager, Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. “It is something that came together over the last year of conversations with Dean Meutzner (PD) and Michelle Colby (PWS). The communities that will be part of the Precision Tour are seeing a number of workers enter the energy sector as part of Precision’s workforce. This is a way for PD and PWS to partner with both the CPRA and those communities to create a common 'rodeo' thread through the season."  Phipps went on to say, "This was one of those opportunities that I call a Win-Win-Win. Committees gain a new partner relationship via the CPRA, contestants enjoy another opportunity to put additional funds in their pockets and Precision is able to show their support towards these talented contestants by contributing a cash bonus for the overall Tour winners. The CPRA is able to partner with a company that is an industry leader and synonymous with hard work and Western Values. It is nice when a partnership fits well, and goals align like this."

The Precision Tour presented by Precision Well Servicing and Precision Drilling Rodeos includes:
